Choose to be Powerful

• Change is not easy, but excuses are easy to find due to testing pressure, budget cuts, lack of support, and lack of time. In education, change involves re-culturing, re-examining values and dispositions, and letting go of what you are vested in. Start by using your connected learning communities to help you change the way you learn. You can then model this learning for your students so you can prepare them for tomorrow rather than yesterday. See the Web as more than a big filing cabinet since it is a place to find people, exchange ideas, share imaginations, insights, and opinions. You will need an adaptive mindset to innovate and you need to challenge the traditional structures of your school’s culture.
