Flattener 2 – 8/9/95 – Netscape Goes Public
- The Web browser can retrieve documents or Web pages stored on Internet Web sites. Netscape was the first mainstream browser which created a culture of Web browsing for the general public. Windows 95 shipped one week later and had built-in Internet support. The installed base of PCs allowed for an explosion in demand. Netscape also set off the dot-com bubble.
