Flattener 4 – Open Sourcing
- Self-Organizing Collaborative Communities – Source code is what programmers create as they try to make a computer do something. Source code is human readable. It is converted to machine code which are the 1’s and 0’s that make a program work. Source code that is open is something that anyone can read and improve on. Software that runs web sites and internet servers is built largely on free open source code. In other words, a bunch of geeks built the foundation of modern web servers in their spare time and gave it away for free for others to improve.
