Eating for Health by Dr. Lisa Ganjhu (@DrLisaGanjhu)
- Lisa is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with a focus on obesity. That was her in the Super Size Me movie. Food can be more powerful than medicine. Life is all about choices. Your food choices will go a long way towards keep you healthy. Eat the rainbow of colors, avoid salt and sugar, eat unprocessed food, lean meat, and low fat food. We need to find foods that give a bigger bang for the buck. There are about fifty super foods depending on the site you look at. A basket of kale won’t negate the double bacon cheese burger effect. You could pick a diet and follow it permanently. If you go on a diet then stop, you will probably gain the weight back when you come off it. Your food plan needs to be personal, economical, sustainable, and portable. Think of it as your diet for the rest of your life.
