• Khadijah is the founder of @BetterBio and an associate at Community Catalyst (@PostScriptRx). She believes that very kid starts out as a natural born scientist and we beat it out of them. (Carl Sagan) Being white kept her out of prison. It’s not hard to find instances where black kids are punished more harshly than white kids for similar actions. She told the story of a black teen girl that was arrested because her science experiment resulted in an explosion at school that caused no harm or damage. Khadijah used her network and social media to get the charges dropped. Here is a link to the story. Although Khadijah is white, she was raised in a black family and is convinced that if she were black, she would have been part of the school-to-prison pipeline that she is trying to stop.
