Strength Training Today: What You Need to Know That Will Change Your Life Holly Perkins, CSCS (@Holly_Perkins)
- Holly is a fitness expert and a fitness ambassador for New Balance. The human body is designed for work. We need strength-based activities to compliment aerobic exercise and yoga. Think of your muscles as a body-wide organ. Each action has three phases. The initial pull or push should be fairly rapid. At the end of the pull or push you should hold. After the hold, the release action should be slower that the original push or pull. Make sure that the last to repetitions of any set require some struggle. If not, do more reps or increase the weight. Improvement in your physical strength improves your outlook and potentially all aspects of your life.
