An Early Warning System
- CohortTracker™ is an early warning system that allows superintendents, principals, guidance counselors and other staff to track the real-time status of secondary students using your state’s graduation requirements. You can also use your district’s requirements if they are more stringent. You view the progress by individual student, total cohort, any No Child Left Behind (NCLB) subgroup, or any graduation status. You can sort your students by any variable with a simple click on a column heading, so you don’t need to learn a report writing language. This is a big advantage over most systems. A colored bar shows red (problem), orange (concern), or green (ok) status for each student for attendance, credits earned, exit exams passed, discipline referrals, and suspensions. While credits and exams alone determine if a student will graduate, poor attendance and discipline issues often indicate trouble ahead.
