Golden Rules
- Set rules and guidelines within your home. If you have to post them on the refrigerator, go for it. Set your teen down when deciding these guidelines. Make it a give and take situation. Even if your teen does not get much in the end, they will still appreciate that they had a choice in some of the decision making. Also, remember to be flexible. If they have a great thing happen one week, allow them to stay out a little later or go out with their friends. This will help your child to feel responsible and open up to you even more. The bond between you will increase as will your understanding of your teen.
