When It Doesn’t Work

• When your efforts don’t work, make more art, give more gifts, learn from what you did and do more. Most bosses are fine with workers who do more than just act like a cog. If your boss only wants cogs, get another job. A cornerstone is selling your boss on your plans, and making sure you give her cover with her boss. Be sure to let your boss take some credit for what you do. Sometimes persuading your customers or students is the best way to persuade your boss. If your art isn’t working, you might be doing the wrong art and need to find a different career path. The alternative is finding ways to love what you do.
