Differentiated Learning

• Every student learns differently. However, most classrooms are set up so that all students are taught the same. It is a factory model that focuses on getting students to pass standardized tests, which can cause the quality of learning to suffer. Homeschooling allows parents to give their children the differentiated learning that they need. Instruction can be adapted to each child’s specific learning style. Children can spend as much time as they need to on each concept, making sure that they master the material before they move on. Alternatively, if they are mastering the material very quickly, they can move forward and continue being challenged and to reach their full learning potential. The lessons can also be matched to their personal interests so that they are more excited about learning.
