• Landscape architects are also expected to be business savvy. This is because budgets are often a concern in both public and private work. A senior architect might be in charge of the funding for his or her entire department. This business skill is usually emphasized while the student is still in college. Academic advisors will recommend certain business related courses that may or may not be necessary in order to graduate. Some of these courses can include: financial accounting and reporting, statistics, economics and finance, marketing concepts and human resource management
