The Steffi Golden Slam

• In 1988 Steffi Graph not only won all four grand slams, she also won the Olympic gold medal in Seoul for the only “Golden Slam.” This included a 6-0 6-0 beat down at the French Open, which was the first double bagel in a grand slam final since 1911. The calendar year grand slam was previously won by only two other women, Maureen Connolly Brinker in 1953, prior to the open era, and Margaret Court in 1970.
